B.Arch NATA Syllabus

The NATA syllabus has been divided into three parts, i.e. Drawing, Mathematics & General Aptitude. The detailed syllabus is mentioned below:

Algebra, Logarithms, Complex Numbers, Quadratic Equations, Matrices, Binomial Theorem (positive integral index), Trigonometry, Coordinate geometry of two dimensions, Coordinate geometry of three dimensions, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus, Differential Equations, Application of Calculus, Vectors, Sets, Relations & Mapping, Permutation & combination and Statistics & probability.

General Aptitude:

Objects, textures related to architecture & built environment. Interpretation of pictorial compositions, visualizing three dimensional objects from two dimensional drawing. Analytical reasoning, mental ability (visual, numerical and verbal) awareness of national/international architects and their creations. Visualizing different sides of 3D objects.

Drawing Test:

The drawing test will measure the ability to sketch a given object, sense of perspective drawing, understanding of proportion and scale, etc.

Understanding scale and proportion of objects, geometric composition, shape, building forms and elements, aesthetics, colour texture, harmony and contrast. Drawing of patterns – both geometrical and abstract. Conceptualization and visualization. Form transformations in 2D and 3D like union, subtraction, rotation, surfaces and volumes. Creating 2D and 3D compositions using given shape and forms. Generating plan, elevation, and 3D views of objects. Perspective drawing, sketching of urban scape and landscape.

STATIONARY REQUIRED:Set of colours (Water/ Poster colours, crayons, pastels) with appropriate instruments (Brushes, dish, etc.),Geometry instrument box.

About JEE/AIEEE (B.Arch)

The All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) now called the JEE (Joint Engineering Entrance Exam) is  held in the month of  April for 936 seats of B.Arch/B.Planning in various institutions, namely National Institutes of Technology, IIITs, Deemed Universities, Technical Institutions, Delhi Technological University, Delhi and other Govt. funded Institutions are offered through this examination. This year many other institutions are expected to admit students through AIEEE. Decision in this regard will be taken by the Central Counselling Board which will be constituted by MHRD and a list of tentative institutions joining the CCB will be placed on the website of CCB i.e.

Part-1: Drawing Test

Three dimensional perception
Understanding and appreciation of scale and proportion of objects, building forms and elements, colour texture, harmony and contrast.
Design and drawing of geometrical or abstract shapes and patterns in pencil.
Transformation of forms both 2 D and 3 D union, substraction, rotation, development of surfaces and volumes, Generation of Plan, elevations and 3D views of objects.
Creating two dimensional and three dimensional compositions using given shapes and forms.
Sketching of scenes and activities from memory of urbanscape (public space, market, festivals, street scenes, monuments, recreational spaces etc.), landscape (river fronts, jungles. gardens, tre es, plants etc.) and rural life.

Part-2: Aptitude Test

Awareness of persons, places, Buildings, Materials.) Objects, Texture related to Architecture and build environment.
